I thought that without a doubt, he was the best running back and player in the entire nation. I find it truly weird and disturbing that the Heisman Trophy is no longer about individual achievement, but more about how your team does. Gerhart had better statistics and intangibles, but Mark Ingram won the Heisman because of the outsanding Alabama defense. Should a running back win the heisman because of his defense. No! of course not. But that is what happened.
